MoldMAX® high conductivity/high strength copper alloys give you thermal conductivity four to nine times greater than that of steel. The thermal properties compare favorably to aluminum, but MoldMAX also provides strength and wear resistance similar to that of many tool steels. So you get shorter cycle times, better part quality and longer tool life.

Molders worldwide are specifying MoldMAX for injection mold
cores and cavities; blow mold pinch offs, neck rings and handle inserts; and hot runner system components. Now, with our new larger plate sizes, you can bring the advantages of MoldMAX to large parts.

Large plate MoldMAX meets the requirements of the large part plastics market, such as automotive, appliance, consumer, and container applications, while bringing the same benefits of cycle time reduction and uniform cooling (lower scrap rates) that you have become accustomed to with our products over the years.

Brush offers plates in the following sizes, with the ability to manufacture sizes in between:
  • 10" x 40" x 39" at 4700 pounds
  • 13" x 30" x 30" at 3600 pounds
  • 20" x 24" x 36 at 5000 pounds
  • 6" x 36" x 96" at 6117 pounds
  • 12" x 42" x 50" at 7300 pounds
  • 15" x 36" x 50" at 7900 pounds
  • 20" x 30" x 48" at 8300 pounds
  • 20" x 36" x 40" at 8000 pounds
  • 25" x 30" x 36" at 8000 pounds
  • 30" x 30" x 30" at 8000 pounds

With the value added characteristics of Brush Wellman's mold alloys, you will substantially reduce part costs while making your manufacturing process more efficient. On average, the cost differential of tool steel to MoldMAX is recovered in cost reductions within the first three months of production, making our mold alloys the least expensive path to substantial cost reduction offered in the industry today. All of this allows you to be more competitive in a world economy.
