Welding Materials
Unlike steel and aluminum, MoldMAX® and PROtherm® molds are readily weld-repaired without significant loss of strength to the mold body. Both TIG(GTAW) and MIG (GMAW) welding processes are commonly used.

WeldPak® copper beryllium is recommended for use as a filler rod in these welding processes. WeldPak® is MoldMAX® rod conveniently packaged in three foot lengths and stocked in 1/16”, 3/32", and 1/8" or a combination of these diameters.

WeldPak®XL copper nickel tin is recommended for use as a filler rod for MoldMAX XL® molds.

For molds made from MoldMAX® HH / LH, or PROtherm®, available sizes are:
  .062 Diameter x 36”
  .093 Diameter x 36”
  .125 Diameter x 36”
Combination group of all three sizes.

For molds made from MoldMAX XL® the available size is:
  .062 Diameter x 24”
